Creating a voki is easy and fun. There are many options for what kind of voki you want. You could have an anime, animal, person, and more as your avatar. You can choose hair, lips, and eyes. What color do you want your hair to be? You can change the color of your hair, skin, and eyes. Then you can choose your clothes and accessories. Your clothes can be fancy, sporty, or casual. When you’re done, hit the x of the customizing box.

How you look isn’t where it ends. Did you know your avatar can talk too? In the “give it a voice,” box, click on the keyboard. In this tab, you can type what you want your avatar to say. What is your hobby? Do you have any pets? After you finish typing what you want it to say, hit the play button on the bottom left corner of the avatar. Then it will talk. To save it, hit publish in the bottom right corner. Your voki is published, and now you can do whatever you want with it.

The color wheel is used to show where all colors come from. It’s a display of primary, secondary, and intermediate colors. The color wheel easily shows opposite colors, warm colors, and cold colors. Other colors and shades aren’t shown in the color wheel, but they come from the colors that are on the color wheel. When you’re making art and you don’t know what colors to use, you can look at the color wheel to see what colors look good together. Opposite colors look better together because analogous colors clash. Blue-green and red look good together. Blue-violet and yellow go well together too. The color wheel has many uses and has helped many.

The color wheel has assisted artists too. Abstract artists us the color wheel the most. They use many opposite colors. To make the art pop they use cold colors and warm colors a lot. All artists use the color wheel. The color wheel is very popular in a painter’s career. They get colors and mix them to make other colors and different shades of colors. Without the colors wheel, art would be so different from what it is now.

When you get to tagxedo, go to the create tab. Upload an image of you to the website. Then under “load,” type in the words you want your picture to be made out of. Use words that best describe you. When someone sees your picture, they want and need to feel like they are getting to know you. Then you can choose how the words are arranged and what colors they are.

Be very careful about what words you choose. They need to describe you well. I chose words like artistic, musical, and quiet. I am quiet because I don’t talk to everyone, but I am loud when I’m with my friends. People are always telling me I draw really well, and the very little number of people that have heard me sing think I’m good. I also play instruments. Being artsy and musical has given me a lot of creativity too.  I get the laughing part of me from my mom. She laughs at everything and so do I. I know I chose good words that describe me well.

I don’t think a traditional picture would tell you as much as a tagxedo picture does. A normal picture only shows what you look like. It lets someone judge a book by its cover. When you put a picture through tagxedo, no one can look at your picture and say you’re something that you’re not. This assignment not only lets others get to know you, it helps you find out about yourself. It makes me happy that people can look at a picture of me and see who I really am.

My friend and I faced all of our fears that didn’t threaten our lives today. My friend Ashley decided to shave her head because one of her fears was being bald. She really loved her hair. We had many things to do today. Ashley screamed a lot because she has a lot of fears. One time she screamed because she stained the couch. I remember when she got a brain freeze and screamed so loud and high-pitched that I could hear my ear drum vibrating.

Ashley does have some reasonable fears. Like me, she is scared of all bugs that hurt you. We’re not allergic or anything. She’s also scared of getting a B on any assignment, even if it’s out of school. So I gave her a 10th grade level science test. She’s really smart so she got a -B. Another fear of hers is seeing a shark. To make sure she saw one, I threw bloody meat into the ocean while we stood on the bridge. Later at night, we took a walk through the cemetery, which we are both scared of. My ears are still ringing from all of that screaming.

My fears are only reasonable to me. Ashley says when she experienced my fears she felt faint. Everyone else says I shouldn’t be scared. Why don’t they tell that to Ashley? She screams 24/7. I’m scared of going hiking when it’s super-hot outside. Since it’s summer, we went hiking today. There were snakes and bugs everywhere. I forgot about it later because I was having so much fun climbing rocks and watching Ashley pant like a dog.

Ashley and I visited our friend’s dad. He’s a beekeeper. We had to face our fears by smoking the bees and getting honey. I ended up getting stung in the arm. There was a whole swarm chasing Ashley, and she was screaming the whole time. She never got stung because she got out her pepper spray and franticly sprayed the air behind her. The spray got in the beekeeper’s eyes and he started screaming too. Still running and spraying, Ashley screamed at me to help her. I got a bucket of water and threw it at the bees. It took most of them down, but three were still flying… at me. I grabbed a wooden board and hit them out of the air. We were kicked out of there fast.

At the beach, I had the bucket with the meat in it. Ashley was already shaking. I was scared… not of the shark, I was scared for Ashley.  I dumped the meat and guts into the water. After what felt like an hour, a shark appeared. As soon as Ashley saw its fin, she screamed the loudest scream I had ever heard. As I turned around, I swung the bucket and it hit someone. They fell in the water, right in the middle of everything. The shark attacked him… or was it her? I couldn’t tell. By now I was screaming too. Ashley’s scream got even louder, which I didn’t think was possible. We were both frozen. Thankfully, the ambulance siren caught my attention. I slapped Ashley to get her attention. As the people got out of the ambulance, I pointed at the water, speechless. I then decided that maybe some fears should stay unfaced.

Graffiti is art usually made with spray paint. People used graffiti in the ancient times. The carvings and paintings on walls are form of graffiti. Graffiti is usually used to express feelings, as is a lot of other art. Other graffiti is made by gangs and they use graffiti to mark their territory. Like other art, graffiti is unique and is used for many things.

http://postergen.com/graffiti-creator is a special website to make virtual graffiti. On the website, there is a textbox to type what you want your graffiti to say. There are many fonts to choose from. You can choose the shadow, filling, outline, and background colors. After choosing colors and fonts, hit generate. If you like it, right-click and save the picture. Now you can use the Graffiti for anything you want.

I chose six words that best described me on my graffiti wall. “Bubbly,” was chosen because I am usually happy and energetic, and I laugh a lot. I chose “crazy,” because once I get out of my shell, I can be crazy. I think “caring,” describes me well because if someone is sad, I usually get sad too. I chose “perfectionist,” to describe me because when I’m writing, I’ll erase a word about five times if it’s crooked, darker, or smaller than the other words. “Outdoorsy,” was chosen because I love being outside. Being stuck inside all day is torture for me. I chose “musical,” to describe me because I play many instrument and I love to sing. I chose these words because I think these are the main things about me.

Emiline: 5 years old. Mauldrey's little sister. Creative, intelligent, and brave. Very small and dainty, bleach blonde wavy hair. Wants to be like Mauldrey.

Jake: 22 years old. Mauldrey's brother. Arrogant, smart-alack, smart, pretends he's not a coward.

Tori: 18 years old. Mauldrey's least favorite person in the world. Snobby, know-it-all, but very pretty

Red: 24 years old. From what used to be America. Black hair always in a braid, grayish green eyes, deep voice for a girl. Brave, intimidating, usually closed up.

It's the year 2050. In what used to be Australia is where our story begins. For years, nature has been abnormally dangerous. All animals have become kill crazy, the weather is fatal almost everyday, and it seems that even the rocks and water have a murderous mind of there own. At the age of 18, everyone has to get a tattoo, leave their family, and learn to fight and survive.

Mom: "Are you nervous?"

Mauldrey:*tries not to cry and talks sarcastically. "No, I'm not nervous at all. I'm just leaving my family forever likely to die right when I get out the door."

Dad: "I know you've never been outside, but once you do, everything will be ok."

Jake: *enters the room. "The first thing you need to is find a new friend because Emiline is dead right when she touches grass."

Mauldrey: *runs over and hugs Jake. "I can't believe you're alive!" *pauses for a moment. "What are you doing here?"

Jake: "I'm supposed to check up on all the families in the domes that are that are going to the commencement ceremony tomorrow."

Mom: *doesn't seem happy whatsoever. "It's nice to see you."

Dad: *says with no emotion. "Glad to see you're a survivor."

Mauldrey: "What is wrong with you!? This is your son who just got back from the death world and all you're saying is hi?" *takes her supper and goes to her room

The next day, Mauldrey is getting ready for the commencement ceremony.

Emiline: "Don't leave Mauldrey!" *wipes tears from her face.

Mauldrey: "I wish I didn't have to go. I'll miss you. But we might see each other again...when you turn 18."

Ondina: *walks into room. "Since when are you positive?"

Mauldrey gives Emiline a look, telling her to shut up.

Ondina: *rolls her eyes. "Come one. It's time to go."

Emiline: *crying, hugs Mauldrey. "Bye Mauldrey. I'll miss you, but don't worry cause I'll see you again."

Ondina and Mauldrey leave their families and go to the tattoo parlor.

Ondina: *says in high voice. "I'm so nervous."  *Very tall, intimidating man walks by. "I can't do this!" *shakes.

Mauldrey: "We have no choice. I don't see why we can't just stay inside the safe-domes."

Tori: *sighs

Mauldrey: "What's your problem?"

Tori: "If we never go outside, we have nothing to survive on, genius. It's simple. Until you're 18, you're under the safety of the domes. When you leave, you learn to survive. After you get older, you could be granted the permission to have a family. But once all the children turn 18, you return to the real world and stop being babies.

Ondina: "How do you know all this?"

Tori: "I'm smart, unlike some people." *looks at Ondina.

Mauldrey: "Why don't you leave her alone? *turns away from Tori. "I wonder why we have to get tattoos?"

Tori: "The ink isn't actually ink. It's an injection. The serum's black so you think it's ink."

Ondina: "What does it do?"

Tori: "The serum changes your personality. It gets rid of your guilty conscience and sentimentality."

Ondina: "That explains our parents' lack of...niceness.

Mauldrey: "Don't pay attention to her. Those are just rumors. Even if it was true, why would they do that?" *shrugs shoulders.

Tori: "It makes it easier for us to leave our families and kill anything that attacks us.

Ondina: *again in a high pitch voice. "I'm not gonna have any feelings!?"

Red:"Alright. Mauldrey, Tom, Annabelle, Emiline, Luke, and Tori." *smiles and points to the door. "Your turn."

Ondina: *takes Mauldrey's hand, smiles, and takes a deep breath. "Let's go."

Mauldrey and Emiline get up from their seats and head for the door. After getting tattoos, they meet in the hall.

Ondina: "I don't feel any different."

Tori: *walks by. "Well duh. They didn't give you an operation."

Mauldrey: "Do you ever shut up? Try keeping your nose on your face and not in everyone's business all the time."

Red: *walks up to them and crosses her arms. "Trouble ladies? Not loitering. Back to the waiting room girls."

Mauldrey: "Who are you?"

Red: "The name's Red. I'm one of the instructors in survival class.

Mauldrey: "I can't stop thinking about my parents."

Red: "Really? The serum should have worked by now." *wrinkle brow, thinking. "Follow me." *starts walking down the hall.

Mauldrey: *runs to catch up. "You mean those rumors are actually true?!"

Red: *stops walking and turns towards Mauldrey. "Yes. Now we need to hurry. You were supposed to be affected by the serum."

Ondina: "Maybe it just doesn't work sometimes." *shrugs shoulders.

Tori: *rolls her eyes and talks sarcastically. "Yeah, maybe all the serum didn't go in. Gosh you're dumb."

Red: "That doesn't happen. Those who aren't affected by the serum are killed. They're no use to our community if they can't focus on our mission."

Tori: "What's the mission?"

Red: "We send everyone we possibly can out into the world partially so we can control the population. Almost half the people sent out die. The rest bring back food or capture animals so they can be experimented on. We need to know what's causing their behavior. Now let's not waste time. You need to be hidden... for now. A great adventure lies ahead of you."
